Document Title: DERP Gambell and Northeast Cape Trip Report
Agency/Organization: NPAEN, US Fish & Wildlife Service, ADEC, Tetra Tech
Document Summary:
This trip report summarizes visits to Gambell, Savoonga, and Northeast Cape completed by the NPAEN, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, the ADEC, and Tetra Tech, Inc. Each trip visit included a meeting with local municipal representatives and Native legal land owners and a tour of the areas of concern. Council and landowner representatives expressed desires for the cleanup of ex-DOD debris and that the legal landowner was the local Native Corporation. Municipal representatives also wanted to be informed of the progress of the clean-up, and want local hire for the labor portion of the clean-up work (major concern).
