This letter from the US EPA notifies the US Navy that it has determined, based on the Preliminary Assessment conducted by the Navy, that the Northeast Cape does not score highly enough on the Hazard Ranking System (HRS) to be placed on the National Priorities List (NPL). It does remind the Navy that it still must comply with Alaska State regulations for contaminant levels and suggests the Navy remove contaminated soil etc to reach background concentrations.
